Katalin Füredi received her law degree at the Faculty of Law and Political Sciences of Eötvös Loránd University in 1990. She obtained an LL.M. degree from Harvard Law School, Cambridge, Massachusetts, US in 1995 and received another LL.M. degree with merits in International Business Law at the London School of Economics and Political Science in the following year.
She started her career as an associate of the financial Business Law Association. As a stagiare, she earned valuable work experience at Cleary, Gottlieb, Steen & Hamilton Law Firm, in Brussels in 1993. In addition, she was a legal intern at the Office of General Counsel of the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development in 1996. Since its establishment in 1992, she works for Gárdos, Füredi, Mosonyi, Tomori Law Office.
Her practice areas are corporate law, securities law, competition law, energy law, acquisitions and labour law. Her professional experience includes, among others, representation of western companies in privatization and acquisitions of majority and minority stakes in Hungarian companies and Hungarian affiliates of foreign investors in their corporate transactions, advising foreign companies in antitrust proceedings, securities issuance, provision of day-to-day legal services to different companies and providing corporate and securities law advices concerning acquisitions and strategic issues.
She is member of the Budapest Bar Association and the New York Bar, US.
She is fluent in English.
